What does a Senior Commercial Operations Specialist do? The Senior Commercial Loan Operations Specialist at Mercantile Bank plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our loan servicing department in Comstock Park, MI. In addition to the core responsibilities of verifying and inputting loans into our core processing system, you will be instrumental in training colleagues on advanced functions and writing detailed procedural documentation. Your expertise will help maintain data integrity, allowing the bank to track and verify loans efficiently while ensuring compliance with all laws and regulations.
You will manage daily reports, calculate payment and interest figures, and assist with the processing of higher-risk transactions. You will also assist with higher seasonal volumes such as Commercial Escrow processing and year end reporting, as well as review collateral releases for errors. Your keen eye for detail will identify trends and risks, helping to minimize potential issues for both the bank and its clients. As part of a high-performing team, you’ll contribute to creating and modifying operational procedures, enhancing efficiency, and fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.

Commercial Loan documentation training required
Education
(1) A bachelor's degreeor (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g. information technology certifications in lieu of a degree).
Equivalent job-related education and/or experience will be considered if the necessary knowledgeskills and abilities to perform the functions of the job are proven.
Former credit training preferred
Basic knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Office Works preferred
