
Account Manager – Regional Energy Network
Location: Remote CA – Must be located in Southern California or Central Coast

What You Will Be Doing
Customer Engagement: Educate customers and trade allies on energy efficiency programs and incentives.
Sales & Support: Collaborate with end-users, dealers, and contractors to explain efficiency measures and assist with enrollment.
Field Work: Travel to meet with contractors, vendors, and customers, providing hands‑on support.
Account Management: Build and maintain an account base to achieve current year savings and develop a pipeline for the following year.
Customer Service: Deliver high-quality service to ensure repeat business and long-term satisfaction.
Opportunity Identification: Identify energy efficiency opportunities for multifamily properties.
Program Facilitation: Facilitate participation in energy efficiency programs.
Relationship Building: Establish and maintain strong relationships with property owners, managers, and contractors.
Savings Goals: Help customers achieve their energy savings goals.
High-Quality Service: Ensure a high standard of customer service throughout the process.
Must have a reliable vehicle for local travel within Southern California. Requirements are between 5% to 40% (reimbursement for mileage provided).
Additional Tasks
Help lead a team of account managers, including training and mentoring junior staff.
Develop and implement sales strategies and prepare persuasive presentations with the account management team.
Perform quality assurance reviews of submitted projects for approval.
Direct oversight of program budgets and tracking & reporting of Key Performance Indicators.
Review program performance toward goals on a regular basis, including forecasting.
Assist in client outreach, meetings, and ad hoc requests, including monthly 1‑on‑1 client meetings and consolidated reporting.
What We Need You To Have (minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Energy, Environment, or Communication (candidates may substitute one year of experience for each year of education).
2+ years’ experience in equipment or technology sales, engineering, and/or energy efficiency.
Must have a valid driver’s license and successfully pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check.
Professional Skills
Expertise with energy efficiency and U.S. policies for residential energy programs.
Knowledge of energy-efficient building practices, energy codes and technologies.
Strong leadership and management skills to help grow and lead a team.
Ability to apply detailed knowledge of organizational procedures to make independent decisions and serve as a credible resource for senior management.
Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making capabilities.
Team player with the ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
Sound business ethics, including the protection of proprietary and confidential information.
Ability to work with all levels of internal staff and with outside clients such as homebuilders, HERS raters, architects, and trade allies.
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
Experience developing recommendations and solutions to overcome challenges.
Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to learn ICF’s energy‑efficiency database/project tracking system.
Ability to travel.
