
Health IT Communications Specialist

The position is hybrid, with occasional onsite work at the client site in Washington, DC.
Spire is a full-service communications firm supporting innovative programs in government, technology, healthcare, and science. We seek a creative, detail-oriented communications specialist with strong writing skills and at least 4 years of marketing or communications experience. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in client-facing work and is passionate about storytelling, digital engagement, and messaging. Candidates must demonstrate initiative, strong workplace efficiency, and the flexibility to assume new responsibilities and pivot to different subject areas.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with health technology companies and/or with federal health agencies.
What You’ll Do
Create compelling content for newsletters, blog posts, social media, and website updates.
Manage and grow clients’ social media presence across platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, X/Twitter, YouTube).
Write and publish blog articles that reflect thought leadership, industry trends, and organizational updates.
Maintain and update the company website using WordPress.
Evaluate, improve, and write website content for search engine optimization (SEO).
Occasionally assist in preparing presentations and reports using PowerPoint and Word.
What You’ll Bring to Spire
Minimum 4 years of professional experience in marketing communications
Experience working on topics such as health IT, healthcare, and public policy
Experience working with or supporting federal government clients or agencies
Proven experience in social media content creation and blog writing
Proficiency in WordPress, PowerPoint, Excel, and basic Salesforce functionality is a plus
Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field preferred.
Familiarity with SEO and digital analytics tools
Basic HTML/CSS markup is a plus
