We are seeking a creative and versatile multimedia producer to join the journalism team at Rocky Mountain PBS. This position plays a critical role in bringing digital and broadcast productions to fruition, while supporting the goals and strategy of the journalism team. The right candidate will have expertise in all aspects of video production and have experience in motion graphics. They will excel at taking both short- and long-form projects from initial concept to final delivery. This is a highly collaborative role, so the ideal candidate will respond well to feedback, work well with others, and bring a positive mindset to the team, while sharing the values of public media. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Conduct pre-production research, outlining, and organization for RMPBS productions Lead production ( film ing and edit ing) of high-quality video content for various platforms, including social media, digital, and broadcast , while adhering to broadcast and journalistic standards Conduct thorough and thoughtful interviews with subjects and ensure accuracy and depth in storytelling and content creation Expected to lead the creation of 2-3 Colorado Experience episodes or RMPBS Original Documentaries per year Support filming and editing on additional episodes and projects as needed Create motion graphics and animations through After Effects or similar program Support in the creation and implementation of new RMPBS Originals digital series Pitch and report written articles adhering to AP Style for the daily digital operation as needed Share and receive feedback Minimum Qualifications of Position
5+ y ears of proven, full-time experience in video production, including filming and video editing ( portfolio required ) Proficiency with the Adobe suite, with expert knowledge in Premiere Pro Experience with creating motion graphics & basic animation in After Affects or similar program Strong knowledge of camera operation, lighting, and audio recording Possess proven skills and abilities as an innovat ive and effective storyteller Excellent communication and collaboration skills Work responsibly within an established budget Must have a driver's license and ability/flexibility to travel around the state for production needs Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Possess proficient writing skills and be comfortable writing articles It is expected that the Multimedia Producer will possess FAA drone certification or will become certified within 3 months of starting this position ADDITIONAL Qualifications for Journalism Team Members
Attend weekly content meetings providing useful input and story ideas Work from the Denver office at least two days per week Engage with communities in Colorado to create an open door for content Represent RMPM at community events as needed Actively participate in RMPM's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) training program. Uses key standards and teachings of DEI training when producing daily responsive content generation. Must possess a valid driver's license and an acceptable MVR; must be insurable for driving station vehicles. Preferred Qualifications of Position
Bachelor's degree in television production, film production, broadcast communications, or related field with strong evidence of achievement Background in documentary-style production Experience with creating long-form documentaries Basic knowledge of web content management and broadcast standards Ability to speak multiple languages is a plus Don't meet every single requirement? The Multimedia Producer will primarily work out of the Buell Public Media Center in the Ballpark neighborhood of Denver. Our hybrid schedule requires 2 in-office days per week, including all Wednesdays. The Multimedia Producer will also work in studio, editing and field environments. This position must be able to work a flexible schedule with occasionally long hours, including some evenings and weekends. Must be able to travel throughout the state and beyond, on occasion. The position requires the ability to lift and carry production equipment up to 50 lbs.
