Facility Description Sebonack Golf Club is a premier private golf club located along the Great Peconic Bay in Southampton, New York. Designed by Jack Nicklaus and Tom Doak, the club is recognized for exceptional course conditions, elite member service, and a refined golf experience. Sebonack is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards in golf operations, member experience, instruction, merchandising, and tournament execution.
Position Summary Sebonack Golf Club seeks a qualified PGA Professional to serve as Lead Assistant Golf Professional. This position plays a key leadership role in supporting all facets of golf operations, with primary emphasis on golf shop merchandising, player instruction, high-end private club service, and tournament administration. The successful candidate will demonstrate professionalism, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering an exceptional member experience consistent with Sebonack’s core values.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Merchandising & Retail Management
Assist with planning, purchasing, and inventory control of golf shop merchandise
Maintain high-level visual presentation and merchandising standards
Analyze sales performance and support seasonal buying strategies
Coordinate special orders and member-focused product offerings
Instruction & Player Development
Provide private instruction, group clinics, and junior programming
Support club fitting and player development initiatives
Build strong relationships with members through professional teaching services
Tournament Operations
Assist in planning, administering, and executing the club’s tournament program
Manage tournament setup, scoring systems, and event logistics
Coordinate with golf operations, outside services, and food & beverage departments
Ensure a seamless, high-quality experience for members and guests
Golf Operations & Member Service
Support daily golf operations, including tee sheet management and pace of play
Uphold the club’s service standards and professional culture
Supervise and mentor professional staff and other team members
Contribute to a collaborative and service-driven golf operation
Qualifications
PGA of America Class A Member in good standing (or Level progressing candidate with clear path to membership)
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a high-end private club environment preferred
Demonstrated experience in merchandising, instruction, and tournament administration
Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in golf shop POS systems and tournament software
Commitment to excellence in service and professional development
Compensation
$60,000+ all in compensation for seasonal employment
