
Digital Content Specialist
The ASU Outreach Hub is a nonprofit organization that supports the outreach and transactional needs of the ASU public enterprise through marketing and engagement solutions that advance the university and strengthen its brand. It specializes in paid media outreach, data-driven insights and outreach to alumni, donors and targeted corporations.
The Digital Content Specialist supports digital strategies across ASU social media accounts, including the ASU Foundation and Sun Devil Rewards, by creating, publishing, and optimizing on-brand content. This role is responsible for day-to-day content execution, performance tracking, and reporting insights to leadership and stakeholders to support engagement and goals.
What you’ll do
Creates and publishes platform-appropriate digital content across social media channels such as Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and other platforms as assigned, in alignment with cross-channel strategies and planning
Maintains and manages a social media content calendar in coordination with internal stakeholders and project timelines
Develops a working understanding of audience segments and personas and applies this knowledge to create relevant, engaging content that inspires action
Develops content in multiple formats, including short-form video, static graphics, carousels, and copy, to drive engagement and brand affinity
Collaborates with project managers, client solutions managers, designers, and video producers to understand objectives, audiences, and desired outcomes and translate them into compelling, on-brand content
Actively participates in new idea generation, brainstorming concepts, and makes recommendations for creative ways to accomplish marketing goals
Reviews marketing plans and applies them to content creation; monitors content and campaign performance using platform analytics and reporting tools to inform ongoing optimization
Analyzes and reports on social media performance metrics, identifying trends, insights, and opportunities for improvement; shares updates in meeting and presentation formats
Coordinates day-to-day content creation and ideation with student workers, providing guidance and feedback on assigned tasks
Researches best practices, emerging trends, and platform updates to inform content recommendations and execution
Ensures content meets brand, accessibility, and compliance standards, including accuracy, grammar, punctuation, writing style, and department requirements
Performs other duties as assigned
What you\'ll need
Working knowledge of social media publishing, monitoring, and listening tools
Understanding of digital content best practices, including platform-specific requirements and short-form video fundamentals
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
Ability to think strategically, holistically, and articulate how to best engage with key audiences throughout the engagement lifecycle
Ability to interpret brand platforms, design standards, content guidelines, and strategic communications plans and apply them to creative execution
Demonstrated proficiency using creative and productivity tools, including Microsoft Office, Google Docs and Slides, and project management systems
Collaborative style, combined with the ability and desire to work in a team-based environment
Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and responsibility regarding information related to Enterprise Partners, its subsidiaries and University business and confidential prospect information
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Problem solver who can take initiative and set priorities while being flexible
Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy, quality, and consistency
Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects
Adept at navigating complex environments with evolving priorities and communication plans
Knowledge of AP style
Relevant qualifications
Bachelor\'s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or closely related field
One (1) year of related experience in content creation, preferably for social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.)
Or any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved
