Key Responsibilities Instructional Design & Content Development

Design, develop, and maintain instructor-led, virtual, and self-paced training (LMS modules, videos, job aids, guides, assessments, and more).

Apply adult learning theory, instructional design models (ADDIE, SAM, RCD), and best practices to create effective learning experiences.

Build visually clear, polished materials aligned with GCON branding and quality expectations.

Create microlearning, quick-reference tools, and on-the-job performance support resources.

Manage competing priorities, shifting deadlines, and multiple concurrent design projects while maintaining high-quality deliverables.

Training Program Support

Collaborate with the Training & Career Development Director to develop and refine GCON’s learning pathways and development programs.

Support the launch of new training initiatives including onboarding, leadership development, compliance, safety, and craft/specialty training.

Update and improve existing training content based on feedback, performance data, and evolving company needs.

SME & Stakeholder Collaboration

Partner with business unit leaders, safety leaders, operational teams, project managers, and other subject matter experts to translate content expertise into clear, learner-friendly training.

Facilitate design meetings, gather requirements, and storyboard learning concepts.

Ensure content accuracy, consistency, and alignment with GCON best practices.

Learning Technology

Build and publish SCORM-compliant modules within the Docebo Learning Management System (LMS).

Use screen recording and video editing tools to create professional-quality training videos, demos, and tutorials.

Support analytics and reporting to evaluate training effectiveness and recommend improvements.

Quality Assurance

Conduct pilots and usability tests to ensure learning materials are intuitive, effective, and job-relevant.

Revise training based on learner feedback, performance data, and business outcomes.

Qualifications Required

Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Learning & Development, or related field — or equivalent experience.

2+ years of experience in instructional design or training content development.

Strong proficiency in Articulate 360 and Storyline.

Strong proficiency in screen recording and video editing software.

Experience designing instructor-led and virtual training.

Strong writing, editing, and visual communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Collaborative approach and comfort working with subject matter experts.

Preferred

Experience in construction, safety, project management, or a technical industry.

Knowledge of adult learning theory, ADDIE, Kirkpatrick evaluation model, or other frameworks.

Experience with Docebo LMS administration.
