We are currently seeking experienced MD (Medical Doctor) or DO (Osteopathic Doctor) specializing in Emergency Medicine. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing immediate medical care to patients in emergency situations. Your expertise will be vital in diagnosing and treating various acute illnesses and injuries, ensuring the well-being of individuals in critical conditions. Responsibilities:
- Rapidly assess and prioritize patient conditions in emergency situations
- Perform medical procedures such as intubation, wound care, and fracture reductions
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests to determine the appropriate course of treatment
- Administer medications and treatments following established protocols
- Coordinate with nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records of patients' conditions and treatment plans
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding medical conditions and treatment options
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to best practices in emergency medicine
Requirements:
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
- Board certification in Emergency Medicine
- Valid state medical license and DEA registration
- Demonstrated experience in emergency medicine settings
- Advanced knowledge of acute care procedures and protocols
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills
Schedule: 3x 12-hour shifts per week
No call required
Annual Volume: 98,000 patients
Daily Volume: 1.5-2 patients per hour
38-bed ED
STEMI & stroke center
EMR: Sunrise & Dragon dictation
Must be board-certified or board-eligible
