Business Development Representative

Looking for an outgoing and competitive Business Development Representative to join our McGee Storage & Handling division to grow our customer base. We are seeking a persuasive and independent individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, natural at building relationships, and hunting/prospecting. In addition, they will be problem solvers with an instinct for identifying value-added solutions for our customers. As a front-line leader of our sales team, the Business Development Representative (BDR) will help drive our sales strategy and performance. The BDR will be a strategic position for expanding our Storage & Handling customer base, reaching out to prospects to analyze their storage needs and present solutions for improving their product flow across their operations. The BDR will work cooperatively with sales consultants to create new customers and exceed monthly sales goals for qualified sales opportunities. The primary product focus will be our suite of pallet racking offerings sold to manufacturing, warehousing, and logistics customers, while also supporting conveyor and automation-related initiatives. The BDR role is responsible for prospecting and developing qualified leads through field prospecting, phone, email, and social outreach with B2B customers to drive company growth and exceed sales targets. Responsibilities: Articulate AFL value to prospective clients. Develop and maintain expert-level knowledge of pallet racking systems and storage solutions across a wide range of applications and industries. Partner with sales consultants to generate qualified pipeline that exceeds our sales goals. Respond to inbound inquiries and develop interest into qualified sales opportunities. Become an expert on lead generation tools to create accurate and targeted lists of prospects and call plans. Act as a trusted advisor for prospects delivering industry knowledge and guidance. Contribute to the successful creation and execution of marketing campaigns that lead to new business. Become an industry insider, providing insight and feedback of changes in material handling and competitors. Perform market analysis to gain understanding of assigned territories, strategic accounts, and most importantly understand buying trends. Skills/Responsibilities: Demonstrate excellent leadership and decision-making skills Work effectively and interact with multiple levels within our organization Excellent oral and written communication, organization and presentation skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Competitive spirit Self-starter and willingness to learn material handling, warehouse operations, and logistics processes. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels Goal-oriented and self-motivated with a focus on achieving sales targets Must possess a "hunting" mentality Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Using a CRM system, preferably Microsoft Dynamics is a plus Proficient in Microsoft Office programs Work Experience Requirements: 2-years sales experience in B2B sales Material handling experience preferred Education/Certification/License Requirements: Bachelor's degree in business related field (or equivalent experience) Must have a current unrestricted driver's license in good standing Work Conditions/Physical Demands: This position is in a field and an office setting where the noise level is generally quiet to sometimes moderate if working near shop areas. Employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; and reach with hands and arms. Employee must have normal manual dexterity and be able to effectively manipulate keyboard and phone. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
