Role Overview


As a Sales Engineering Manager , you’ll lead and develop a small team of Sales Engineers while staying hands‑on in key deals as a player‑coach. You’ll partner closely with Growth and Mid‑Market Account Executives to drive the full technical sales cycle, while also building the operating rhythm, coaching, and scalable assets needed to grow the function and take the team to the next level.


This is a hands‑on, customer‑facing leadership role with real ownership and visibility across deals, team performance, and process.


Key Responsibilities



  • Lead, coach, and develop a small team of Sales Engineers while remaining hands‑on in strategic opportunities


  • Partner with Growth and Mid‑Market AEs across the full technical sales cycle


  • Lead deep technical discovery around cloud environments, identity models, and access risk


  • Deliver tailored demos aligned to customer‑specific use cases


  • Design and run POVs by defining success criteria, configuring environments, and guiding customers to outcomes


  • Handle RFPs, RFIs, and security due diligence including architecture, data flows, and IAM models


  • Translate requirements into scalable architectures across:


    • AWS, GCP, and Azure

    • Identity platforms such as Okta and Azure AD

    • Kubernetes, databases, and cloud infrastructure



  • Build and refine repeatable mid‑market assets including demo flows, templates, talk tracks, and sample configurations


  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering to share customer feedback and influence roadmap


  • Partner with Customer Success and Implementation teams to ensure smooth handoff and fast time‑to‑value



Non‑Negotiables



  • 2+ years of people management experience (player‑coach leadership required)


  • 3–5+ years of experience in a Sales Engineer or Solutions Engineer role


  • Hands‑on experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure)


  • Background with security and access technologies such as IAM, PAM, or Zero Trust / ZTNA


  • Strong understanding of identity concepts including SSO, RBAC, SAML, and OIDC


  • Ability to engage credibly with DevOps, Security, and Platform teams and translate technical value to business buyers


  • Proven demo and storytelling skills with complex technical products


  • Experience supporting multiple deals in parallel in a mid‑market or velocity sales motion


  • Highly organized, outcome‑driven, and able to keep deals moving forward



Nice to Have



  • Background in cybersecurity, identity security, or cloud infrastructure platforms


  • Prior experience at a Series A–C or fast‑scaling SaaS company


  • Kubernetes‑heavy or infrastructure‑first customer exposure


  • Knowledge of Terraform or other Infrastructure‑as‑Code tools



Compensation & Benefits



  • OTE up to $300,000
