Description Huntington's Managing Director is a senior-level leader within the Syndicated and Leveraged Finance team, responsible for originating and executing capital raising and liability management solutions for corporate clients. This role focuses on delivering Huntington’s product expertise in Syndicated and Leveraged Finance (SLF), while maintaining deep relationships with financial and institutional investors and internal coverage teams. The Managing Director will have a defined calling area (by banker, industry vertical, or region) and is expected to meet individual and team revenue targets, contribute to strategic growth, and be recognized by name within the investor community. This position requires a strong command of credit fundamentals, capital markets dynamics, and transaction structuring, with the ability to align client needs with Huntington’s risk appetite and market conditions.

Responsibilities

Lead client engagement and idea generation for new business opportunities.

Cover a defined calling area and contribute to team-wide origination efforts.

Independently lead SLF transactions from initial pitch through post-mandate execution, including structuring and executing transactions, overseeing launch materials, lender meetings, and due diligence coordination.

Develop and present client materials such as pitch books, offering memorandums, financial models, and transaction comparables.

Manage relationships with institutional investors and ensure timely execution of mandated transactions.

Prepare syndication strategies and collaborate with the Syndicate Sales & Trading desk on deal execution.

Monitor market trends, industry developments, and investor sentiment to inform strategy and client recommendations.

Serve as a senior product expert across Corporate, Specialty, and Government Banking coverage teams.

Mentor and train junior colleagues, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous development.

Partner with Relationship Managers to deliver lead bank financing solutions and optimize loan profitability.

Contribute to the implementation of SLF policies, procedures, and marketing strategies.

Assist in preparing management reports on business performance and market dynamics.

Maintain CRM systems and databases to track client interactions, deal pipelines, and investor feedback.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field

Minimum 12 years’ experience leading and executing complex transactions in Capital Markets, Investment Banking, or Corporate Finance

FINRA Series 79, 63 (or equivalent)

Preferred Qualifications

Deep understanding of industry trends, regulatory frameworks, and capital markets products

Strong client-facing skills with the ability to build trusted relationships

Exceptional communication and presentation skills across all organizational levels

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Demonstrated leadership, integrity, and a client-centric mindset

Adaptability to change and resourcefulness in navigating constraints to deliver results

Workplace Type Office. Certain positions outside our branch network may be eligible for a flexible work arrangement. We’re combining the best of both worlds: in‑office and work from home. Compensation Range $300,000.00 to $350,000.00 Annual Salary. The compensation range represents the low and high end of the base compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. Colleagues in this position are also eligible to participate in an applicable incentive compensation plan.
