Overview The Commercial Credit Specialist (CCS) is responsible for tasks related to the end-to-end commercial credit process. The CCS role is the first point of engagement for the lenders and responsible for ensuring timely and consistent execution of the commercial credit process. Responsibilities include initial deal coordination, confirmation that appropriate financial statements have been submitted for a request, order and review of pre-close due diligence, and engagement of the loan processing team. The CCS will assist in the setting up of ticklers, collection and monitoring of financial documents that are required. The CCS will be responsible for preparation of monthly and quarterly board reports for the Commercial Credit Team, monitoring maturing loans and outreach to members to gather information where appropriate or assignment for a lender for further action.

Essential Responsibilities

Initial deal coordination – confirmation that the appropriate financials statements have been submitted.

Order and review of pre-close due diligence.

Setup/Scheduling/Collection/Monitoring of client related documentation, including financials.

SBA 1052 reporting.

Accurate and timely completion of Board Reports including hosting a monthly collection call for updates with management.

Collection and Monitoring of Borrowing Base Reports. Submit limit restrictions to Business Loan Operations.

Manage Meridian Link Loan Process, reviewing all new applications, notifying credit analysts of new applications ready to be decisioned, communicating requests for additional documentation with applicants and communicating loan decisions with applicants.

Assist in the management of maturing loans/renewals by sending notices to members via email and regular mail. Review maturing loan pipeline and participate in pipeline review meetings.

Monitor the Commercial Lending Email Box.

Insurance Tracking

Must understand and comply with all required federal and state regulations associated with this position.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED required; associate’s degree in business, finance or accounting preferred.

Minimum of two years of experience in a commercial lending or similar lending role.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong organization and time management skills, along with great attention to detail.

Proficiency in technology, including systems such as: Microsoft applications, Merdian Link, Abrigo/Sageworks, DNA.

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
