
Job Summary
UK Healthcare is seeking a Senior Corporate Accountant responsible for driving the business forward while focusing on the profitability and managing the risk exposure of the University of Kentucky HealthCare Enterprise, both hospital and College of Medicine in relation to general accounting. The selected applicant will proactively identify process gaps and needs, create efficiencies, and drive change for effective and efficient financial operations, as well as establish and ensure compliance with GAAP policies, procedures, and internal controls. We are seeking a candidate with a strong customer service mentality, who can develop and maintain key relationships with internal organizations and within the business, to ensure accounting is fulfilling the needs of the business, patients and their families. In addition, we seek a candidate with an organizational improvement mindset, who can continuously scan and identify processes and workflows for improvement. Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Solid understanding of general accounting processes. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong problem solving, project management, teamwork, and organizational skills. Excellent influencing, persuasion, and conflict resolution skills. Must possess high ethical standards with ability to build teams and relationships with results orientation and commitment to process development. Preferred Education / Experience
A Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university in Business Administration, Business Management, or similar field is required. Five (5) – seven (7) years of progressively responsible work experience in accounting, budgeting, financial review and analysis is required. Strong MS Office, especially Excel skills.
