Job Description The Dodge Family College of Arts and Sciences (DFCAS) invites applications for a strategic and relationship-driven
Director of Alumni Relations
to lead alumni engagement efforts for the college’s global community of more than 100,000 alumni. This role plays a vital part in strengthening lifelong connections between alumni and the college while supporting student success, institutional visibility, and long-term advancement goals.
The Director will design and implement innovative engagement initiatives that connect alumni with students, faculty, and the intellectual life of the college. Working in close partnership with the University of Oklahoma Foundation, this position advances alumni involvement through mentoring, networking, career engagement, events, and strategic communications.

Primary Duties
Develops and implements a comprehensive alumni relations strategy aligned with DFCAS priorities and in support of the overall alumni engagement goals of the University of Oklahoma Foundation
Designs and executes engagement initiatives that connect alumni to the academic, student, and intellectual life of the college
Cultivates relationships with alumni to promote mentoring, networking, volunteerism, advisory involvement, and philanthropic participation
Coordinates with alumni chapters, affinity groups, and student organizations to expand engagement opportunities
Serves as liaison to the DFCAS Board of Visitors and other advisory boards to support alumni leadership engagement
Ensures consistent messaging that highlights alumni achievements, student success, faculty research, and college impact
Collaborates with the OU Foundation to develop and disseminate alumni-related content
Partners with the Foundation’s Advancement Initiatives team to plan and support alumni events, including reunions, awards programs, networking events, and regional gatherings
Maintains alumni engagement data and records in collaboration with the OU Foundation and uses data insights to inform strategy
Analyzes alumni data to measure program effectiveness
Partners with the DFCAS Student Success Center to create mentoring, networking, and career engagement programs connecting alumni and students
Develops programs that expand alumni participation in student career development and post‑graduate success
Works with the Dean of Students to share student achievements and milestones with alumni audiences
Collaborates with the Associate Dean for Research to share faculty research and scholarly activities with alumni
Coordinates with academic departments and college units to ensure the successful planning and execution of alumni programs and events
Performs other duties as assigned to fulfill the mission of the position
Job Requirements Required : Bachelor's degree,
AND :
7 years (84 months) of experience in alumni, constituent, donor or community outreach and engagement, communications, education, law or related field.
Skills
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across interdepartmental teams and cross-functional initiatives
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences including alumni, students, faculty, staff, and external partners
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel) and ability to use technology to support communication, reporting, and engagement efforts
High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in data management and communications
Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple initiatives and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Ability to analyze information and produce reports that inform engagement strategy and program effectiveness
Advertised Physical and Work Requirements
Standard office environment with frequent interaction with faculty, staff, students, university leadership, and external constituents
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines and high-volume periods
Extended periods of sitting and computer use
Repetitive hand and wrist motion associated with computer work
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to support events
Occasional travel required
Department Preferences
Demonstrated knowledge of higher education environments, with preference for experience in advancement, alumni relations, or strategic communications
Experience using alumni engagement, advancement, or CRM platforms to support outreach, engagement tracking, and data-informed decision-making
Supervisory Responsibility
Ability to supervise, direct, and support the work of subordinate staff, including assigning priorities, monitoring performance, and ensuring completion of alumni engagement initiatives
