THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON BID AWARD

The

Sr. Science & Technology Protection Specialist

will provide functional and specialized support, strategic direction, and oversight of the operations and business functions in support of the AFRL SSO division.

Responsibilities

Assist with S&T Protection Plan efforts to include identifying and validating security requirements, providing guidance to ensure the protection of technologies and related information of various classification levels.

Develop or evaluate program, project, or technology area security risk assessments and analyses, and provide mitigation plans.

Provide security oversight for all aspects of technology control and S&T protection planning as well as development of certification and accreditation documents.

Provide support as a technical security advisor to internal and external entities on matters affecting overall protection architecture.

Present a clean, neat, and professional appearance within the USG-assigned facilities and in virtual meetings.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Master of Arts (MA)/Master of Science (MS)

Minimum twelve (12) years' experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed

Minimum five (5) years' experience in the DoD. OR

Bachelor of Arts (BA)/Bachelor of Science (BS) degree

Minimum fifteen (15) years' experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed

Minimum five (5) years' experience in the DoD OR

Minimum twenty (20) years' experience with a Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC).

Minimum eight (8) years' experience in the DoD.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance

Possess proficiency in the use of Microsoft (MS) Office Applications (Excel, OneNote, Outlook, PowerPoint, Skype, Teams, and Word), Adobe Acrobat, SharePoint, Zoom, and applications for access to the World Wide Web (WWW) including MS Internet Explorer, Edge, Google Chrome, and Firefox.

Possess understanding and be familiar with G-suite and other common, cloud-based services.

Ability to perform tasks and oversee the efforts of junior and journeyman personnel within the technical/professional discipline

Knowledge of their technical/professional discipline

Ability to apply associated standards, procedures, and practices in their area of expertise

Demonstrate understanding, communication, coordination, prioritization, file maintenance, database management, and report and presentation development for diverse audiences.

Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to gain cooperation from others through tact, courtesy, and diplomacy and the ability to maintain good working USG relationships.

Ability to communicate and interact professionally at all times to preserve USG relationships. Decorum is required and no profanity or workplace bullying will be tolerated.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee may use repeated motions that include the arms, wrists, hands and/or fingers. The employee is occasionally required to walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
