Job Description Summary Multifamily Property Managers are responsible for maintaining our communities to a market-ready standard, always ensuring a high level of service. They also motivate high-performing teams to maximize property performance.
Multi-Site, North Loop Properties: Variant (144 units) and Junction Flats (182 units).
$85,000‑$90,000 salary. Eligible for benefits and additional earnings.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Ensuring the smooth running of our community in a fast‑paced environment; overseeing all operations including maintenance, capital improvements, lease administration, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, collections, evictions, vacancy anticipation, marketing, lease renewals, service contracts, expense control, and audits.
Providing superior customer service and communication to residents and prospects to enhance satisfaction and increase renewals, revenue, reputation, and profitability; completing lease/renewal paperwork to company standards.
Tracking and evaluating advertising and all client traffic.
Developing, mentoring, leading, and managing a high‑performing, cohesive team—including leasing, customer service, maintenance, and management personnel—to maximize engagement and minimize turnover.
Driving revenues with a thorough understanding and analysis of competition and by developing creative marketing programs.
Leading by example; instilling, maintaining, and modeling Cushman & Wakefield’s mission to be the best national management company.
Supervising day‑to‑day operations of the on‑site team, ensuring all policies and procedures are followed.
Maintaining effective on‑site staff through interviewing, hiring, and coaching as necessary.
Maintaining residents’ files in accordance with company standards.
Maintaining a positive living environment for residents through prompt conflict resolution and consistent follow‑up.
Managing and maintaining all aspects of the overall community budget and finances.
Working with leasing staff to ensure leasing/marketing goals are met.
Competencies
Effective communication and customer service skills.
Computer literate, including Microsoft Office Suite and internet navigation skills.
General office, bookkeeping, and sales skills with excellent oral and written communication skills.
Determining leasing opportunities for staff and working on goal setting to improve each member’s performance.
Supervising day‑to‑day operations of the team, ensuring all Cushman & Wakefield policies and procedures are followed.
Working with leasing staff to meet leasing/marketing goals.
Managing a team.
Performing any related duties as required or assigned.
IMPORTANT EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
MN Real Estate License preferred.
Important Experience
3+ years of on‑site multifamily property management experience required, including leasing, assistant property manager, and property manager responsibilities.
1+ year of on‑site multifamily property manager experience in the local Minneapolis market required.
Yardi systems experience required; strong preference for CRM and Ops Technologies systems.
Strong preference for luxury, Class A multifamily property experience.
Required strength in budget creation and management, month‑end reporting, variance and invoicing, reclasses, and accruals.
WORK ENVIRONMENT This job operates in a professional office environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Regular travel is required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may need to stand and walk for extended or continuous periods of time; they must be able to ascend and descend staircases, ladders, and/or step stools and may be required to travel outside between buildings in varying outdoor weather conditions. They may also need to remain stationary (sit or stand) for 85% of the time; operate office machinery. The employee must be able to travel up to 15% of the time. They must be able to exert up to 25 pounds occasionally or frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects.
