As such, the incumbent will ensure the company remains compliant, reduces lead times and improves supply-chain performance by playing a pro-active role in keeping our corporate trade policies and guidelines aligned with North American regulatory requirements.**The role*** Planning and directing a team of Customs Analysts.* Continuous monitor company compliance through periodic audits, controls, and KPIs.* Identify, escalate, and resolve non-compliance promptly and efficiently to mitigate operational, regulatory, and financial risks including the potential loss of preferential trade benefits.* Pursue duty recovery opportunities, including retroactive refunds, and implement strategies to minimize tariffs and other border-related costs.* Liaise with foreign manufacturing facilities to ensure accurate, complete, and timely documentation, thereby minimizing clearance delays and operational disruptions.* Manage relationships with external service providers (e.g. customs brokers, freight forwarders, etc.) and ensure the company’s best interests are properly served and looked after.* Serve as primary point of contact with government authorities and manage audits, verifications, and other compliance reviews initiated by customs agencies.* Participate in special projects that require customs and international trade expertise.* Ensure relevant internal stakeholders are adequately trained on customs matters and develop continuous improvement programs.* Prepare and deliver reports and briefings to support informed decision-making and risk management.* Maintain and oversee customs licenses, permits, trade program enrolments, trademark authorizations, along with special customs exemptions and waivers.* Investigate potential trade and customs non-compliance issues and recommend corrective actions; and* Support the preparation and submission of voluntary disclosures to the customs authorities, as required.**The requirements*** Bachelor’s degree in international trade, logistics or supply-chain or equivalent along with a specialized designation in the administration of customs related matters* 10 years’ related experience working directly on entry documents under a wide range of trade preference and trade agreements. Experience administering Foreign Trade Zones.* Good oral and written communication.* Team player.* Excellent knowledge of the various North American customs processes.* Hands-on knowledge of the processes associated with the administration of FTZs; and* Fair understanding of the FDA interactions in customs matters* This position requires proficiency in a language other than French to support customers, employees or markets located outside the province of Quebec or requiring services in a language other than French – mainly English.We want to get to know you better!
