Blackbeard Operating, LLC is seeking a Landman is responsible for managing land-related matters for assigned asset areas, with a primary focus on field operations, surface and right-of-way agreements, stakeholder relationships, and strategic land planning. This role serves as the bridge between Operations, Management, and external landowners to ensure land access, compliance, and continuity of operations.

Essential Functions Asset & Area Ownership

Serve as the primary land representative for assigned asset areas.

Act as the main liaison between Management and Operations to assess, prioritize, and facilitate all incoming land-related requests.

Maintain situational awareness of land status, constraints, and risks within assigned areas.

Negotiation & Agreements

Negotiate surface use agreements, right-of-way agreements, easements, amendments, and renewals.

Manage landowner and stakeholder relationships to support ongoing and future operations.

Ensure agreements align with company standards, operational needs, and risk tolerance.

Field & Operational Support

Coordinate closely with Operations, Construction, and Midstream teams to support field activities.

Conduct site visits, inspections, and landowner meetings as needed.

Resolve land-related issues impacting operations in a timely and professional manner.

Strategic Planning

Identify future land needs related to development, expansion, and infrastructure projects.

Provide input into asset planning, budgeting, and scheduling from a land perspective.

Anticipate land challenges and propose proactive solutions.

Oversight & Quality Control

Review and approve land documents prepared by administrative support prior to execution.

Ensure accuracy and completeness of land records and agreement terms.

Maintain accountability for deliverables and timelines within assigned asset areas.

Administrative Interface (Delegated Tasks)

Agreement drafting using approved templates

Document filing, indexing, and data entry

Land system updates and tracking

Standardized reporting and summaries

Invoice intake coordination with Accounting – USLG damage tracking

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Land, Energy Management, Business, or related field

5+ years of land experience in oil & gas, midstream, or related energy operations (adjustable based on role level)

Strong negotiation and relationship management skills

Working knowledge of surface, ROW, easements, and land-related agreements

Ability to manage multiple assets and priorities in a fast-paced environment

Comfortable working cross-functionally with Operations, Legal, Finance, and Administration

Asset ownership mindset

Strong communication and decision-making skills

Practical problem-solving approach

Ability to operate independently with accountability

Willingness to be hands-on while maintaining strategic focus
