As a temporary Graphic Designer at National Inventors Hall of Fame (NIHF) you will be working as a part of the Creative Department. The Creative Department is an in-house team that produces a large variety of print, web design, photography, live‑action videos, animated videos, digital advertising, museum displays and social content for external and internal purposes. Your primary focus will be to support our Camp Invention education product but you will also be trained and assigned to a variety of design projects. You will be part of a smaller team that consists of an Education Writer, a Video Editor, and a Motion Graphics Designer. Together you will create an original curriculum for Camp Invention. You will be reporting to and learning from the Lead Designer along with the rest of the Design and Production team. We are looking for someone who is passionate about designing for kids and has a collaborative spirit.

Position Responsibilities

Design, layout, and formatting of materials including typographic, photographic, illustrative, and graphic elements.

Knowledge of brand communication and digital marketing.

Creating the tone for the creative look of an individual module suitable for K‑6th grade.

Translating your design into print, digital and elements for video, to create material for the Campers and Instructors.

Update design items weekly, based on research feedback.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Mastery of Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop.

Strong knowledge of print production and file preparation.

Strong knowledge of Adobe Animate / Adobe After Effects / HTML.

Strong knowledge of photography, retouching and file management.

Strong knowledge of brand communication and digital marketing.

Medium illustration skills.

Motivated and detail‑oriented.

Experience working within brand‑guidelines.

Software

Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Animate).

Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, Excel).

Dropbox, Trello, Slack, Canto.

Credentials and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or related field.

Minimum of 2 years' experience working as a Graphic Designer.

A portfolio of your work must be submitted with your resume to be considered for this position.
