Pye-Barker is seeking an Outside Sales Representative responsible for selling our fire protection and life safety solutions across new construction and retrofit projects. This role focuses on generating new business through prospecting and cold outreach, presenting and demonstrating products and services, and collaborating closely with the service department to ensure a strong customer experience. The Outside Sales Representative will increase revenue by developing new client relationships, maintaining existing accounts, identifying prospective customers, following up on sales leads, and recommending targeted marketing strategies.
The role includes full benefits, a gas card with allowance, a company cellphone and laptop, and our All-In Partnership program.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Build and maintain a network of sources from which to identify new sales leads.
Communicate with customers and leads to identify and understand their product or service needs; identify and suggest products and services to meet those needs.
Demonstrate the functions and utility of products or services to customers based on their needs.
Maintain communication with existing and previous customers, alerting them of new products, services, and enhancements that may be of interest.
Maintain detailed reports of sales activities including calls, orders, sales, lost business, and any customer or vendor relationship problems.
Provide periodic territory sales forecasts.
Perform other duties assigned by management.
Education & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Sales, Business, or related field OR 2 years of related experience required.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Excellent sales and negotiation skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to function well in a high‑paced and at times stressful environment.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Other Duties
Adhere to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
