This role works closely with lenders and communicates directly with current and potential clients to obtain required information in support of loan requests. The Senior SBA Underwriter prepares, reviews, and presents complete credit packages in full compliance with SBA SOP guidelines for lender and committee review, supporting informed lending decisions for new, renewal, and extension loans.## **What you’ll do:*** **Demonstrated ability to independently underwrite complex SBA 7(a) transactions with limited managerial revision.*** **Evaluate creditworthiness and collateral** for SBA 7(a), 504, and ITL loans, both secured and unsecured; underwrite loan requests and prepare clear, well-supported credit presentations.* **Spread and analyze financial statements** within underwriting systems and generate supporting reports for credit analysis and loan presentation.* Manage assigned loan files independently, including prioritization, lender communication and deadline management.* **Proactively escalate material issues, risks, or approval blockers to management before deadlines may be impacted.*** Independently identify, analyze, and resolve material underwriting issues (including cash flow drivers, affiliate impacts, and structural risks), prior to draft submission.* **Provide underwriting recommendations** to the SBA credit manager, lenders, and loan committees to support informed lending decisions.* Ensures full compliance with SBA SOP guidelines.* **Assist with ongoing loan monitoring**, including obtaining updated financial information, ensuring covenant and policy compliance, and preparing annual loan reviews as required.## **What You’ll bring:*** Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or other related business study strongly preferred.* Five years to eight years of SBA 7a underwriting experience.* Strong understanding of SBA SOP eligibility requirements.* Credit training or equivalent classes offered by 3rd party providers (NAGGL, RMA, ABA, banking associations, etc.).* Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, core databases, credit analysis software.## **Who We Are:**We’re proud of our past, thrilled with our present, and couldn’t be more excited about our future!
