Account Executive – Public Sector & Commercial

Overview The Account Executive is responsible for driving revenue growth through the sale of cybersecurity, data infrastructure, cloud, and professional services solutions to Public Sector and Commercial customers. This role encompasses the full sales cycle of prospecting, customer acquisition, customer growth, and customer retention in a defined territory and account set.This sales role carries a quota that includes both products and services. The Account Executive partners closely with internal technical teams, vendors, and channel partners to develop account strategies, close new business, and expand existing customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Achieve and exceed assigned sales quota through a combination of new customer acquisition and expansion within existing accounts.

Manage the full sales cycle, including prospecting, discovery, solution design coordination, proposal development, negotiation, and close.

Develop and execute territory and account plans aligned to organizational goals.

Understand customer business drivers, technical requirements, and procurement constraints, and position appropriate solutions.

Sell a portfolio that may include cybersecurity, infrastructure, cloud, SaaS, and professional services offerings.

Accurately forecast pipeline, bookings, and revenue on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.

Coordinate with sales engineering, operations, and vendor partners to deliver complete and compliant solutions.

Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions while maintaining target margins.

Maintain a strong understanding of market trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies.

Provide regular feedback to leadership on customer needs, market conditions, and process improvements.

Required Qualifications

2+ years of experience

in technology sales, account management, or a related customer-facing role.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously and prioritize effectively.

Strong consultative selling and relationship-building skills.

Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.

High level of professionalism, integrity, and accountability.

Proficiency with CRM tools, Microsoft Office, and standard sales productivity tools.

Self-driven professional who proactively identifies needs, takes ownership of responsibilities, and delivers results independently.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience selling to Public Sector (state, local government, education, or healthcare) customers.

Knowledge of cybersecurity, data center, cloud, or infrastructure technologies.

Experience working with OEMs, distributors, and channel partners.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.

Relevant vendor or sales certifications are a plus.
