ErikTheElectric is seeking a story-focused creative collaborator to help shape the narrative direction of long-form YouTube videos. This role is centered on

story development, structure, escalation, and payoff

across complex, high-effort projects. The ideal candidate has a strong instinct for storytelling in a YouTube context and understands how to turn real-world experiences into clear, compelling narratives that sustain attention over long runtimes. This role is

not

focused on editing, thumbnails, or growth tactics — it is focused on

story . Role Scope

This role is involved

throughout the full lifecycle of each video , including: Ideation

Identifying ideas with strong narrative and escalation potential Pressure-testing concepts for long-form storytelling viability Helping define the narrative spine before filming Creating story outlines or narrative maps Breaking videos into acts or major phases Providing story guidance as production unfolds Helping identify what to lean into, reinforce, or deprioritize Maintaining narrative clarity as scope and runtime expand Reviewing rough cuts with a story-first lens Identifying weak middles, stalled stakes, or unclear arcs Flagging moments that need emotional reinforcement or stronger payoff Helping ensure the finished video feels cohesive, intentional, and earned Key Responsibilities

Develop written story outlines and act breakdowns Identify stakes, turning points, emotional beats, and payoff moments Protect narrative clarity across long runtimes (20–40+ minutes) Act as a strong editorial voice when something doesn’t land or needs rethinking Collaborate closely with the creator while respecting a real-world process Ideal Background

Strong candidates may have experience as: A

story editor or producer on unscripted or narrative-driven television A creative with

writer’s room experience A YouTube creator or collaborator with demonstrated strength in

story-driven long-form videos A storyteller who understands how to apply cinematic story principles within YouTube’s retention-based format Experience with YouTube is important, but

story judgment, narrative instinct, and the ability to challenge creatively

matter more than platform tactics. How Collaboration Works
