About the Role
We're looking for a creative, detail-oriented Visual Content Designer to own the visual presentation of Rare Plant Fairy across our digital channels. This role blends hands‑on product photography, photo editing, and graphic design to create clean, consistent, on‑brand assets for ecommerce, marketing, and internal use. This is a production‑focused position for someone who thrives on executing both behind the camera and at the computer—not just concepting.
What You’ll Do Your day‑to‑day varies based on what needs attention most. On some days you’ll be styling and shooting products in our studio with intentional lighting and composition. On others, you’re editing and retouching images for web and ecommerce platforms, or designing graphics that bring our collections to life across our website, email, and social channels. You’ll maintain visual consistency across everything we create, organize image libraries, and ensure every asset reflects our brand standards.
Specific Responsibilities Product Photography

Execute studio‑style shoots with intentional lighting, composition, and consistency
Capture multiple angles, detail shots, and lifestyle‑adjacent imagery as needed
Maintain visual consistency across product collections
Photo Editing & Asset Preparation
Edit and retouch images for web and marketing use (color correction, background cleanup, cropping, resizing)
Prepare optimized assets for ecommerce platforms (e.g., Shopify) following platform‑specific requirements
Organize and maintain image libraries using consistent file naming conventions
Archive and catalog assets for easy retrieval and future use
Graphic Design
Design supporting visual assets using product photography, including PDP images, banners, callouts, email and digital marketing assets, social media graphics, and print or internal materials as needed
Ensure all visuals align with brand guidelines and visual standards
Collaborate with marketing and ecommerce teams on asset needs and timelines
What We’re Looking For
Proven experience in product photography (portfolio required)
Strong photo editing and retouching skills (color correction, backgrounds, sizing for web)
Solid graphic design experience with a clean, modern aesthetic
Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, and at least one of: Illustrator or InDesign
Comfortable using Canva for quick, on‑brand design work
Comfortable working independently and managing production workflows
Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistency—especially around file organization and naming conventions
Reliable and thrives in a fast‑paced environment
Nice to Have
Experience with DTC or ecommerce brands
Familiarity with Shopify or ecommerce image requirements
Basic studio setup knowledge (lighting, backdrops, shooting surfaces)
Experience with digital asset management systems
The Details
Position: Full‑time, On‑site (Detroit, MI)
