Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Technology, Educational Technology, Education, or related field. Five years of experience in instructional design, computer multimedia, or course development using emerging technologies or related field. Experience in higher education preferred. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered. Nature & Purpose Of Position

Assists faculty in the design and development of digital learning, from fully online courses to individual digital learning objects for face-to-face and blended courses. Primary Responsibilities

Assists and supports faculty in the development and implementation of digital learning, leveraging instructional technologies and pedagogical knowledge. Manages assigned course workload using project management fundamentals. Consults with faculty members to determine appropriate technology and strategies for course delivery, learning design, and tool usage. Helps coordinate SHSU Online services on behalf of the educator. Facilitates faculty development sessions or online cohorts as needed. Develops and conducts instructional technology workshops for faculty as needed. Participates in continuing professional development activities. Faculty support may be provided via webinars, phone calls, virtual meetings, or face-to-face. Travel may be required ( Other Specifications

Keeps current on emerging applications of instructional design and instructional technology applications as they relate to distance learning. Keeps abreast of research concerning the teaching learning process as it relates to distance education. Thorough knowledge of learning theories. Understanding of college level course work and ability to apply that understanding to course development. Ability to design, develop, and implement instructional multimedia products. Ability to work collaboratively including strong communication, interpersonal, project management, and organizational skills. Skills of current microcomputer technologies; desktop applications, World Wide Web and multimedia. Knowledge of safety and security precautions appropriate to work performed. Devotes 85% of time to provide instructional design, training, and course development services to all TSUS schools participating in the Shared Services Project. Full Time Part Time
