JR101060# **Department**Department of Administration# **Division**Building/Grounds Maintenance# **Salary**$152,065.00 - $170,589.00# **Job Profile**JC-02671904-99 - Assistant Director of Facilities (DCAMM) (Non-Union Executive Branch Agency Employees)# **Scheduled Work Days & Work Hours****Monday - Friday; 8:30am - 4:00pm****Position is within the Division of Capital Asset Management & Maintenance (DCAMM).**# **Opening Date**February 11, 2026# **Closing Date**February 20, 2026# **Job Requisition Number**JR101060 Assistant Director of Facilities (DCAMM) (Open)# **Pay Grade**C00147 A# **Classification**Assistant Director of Facilities (DCAMM)# **Class Definition****GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES**: Within the Division of Capital Asset Management & Maintenance (DCAMM), to be responsible for assisting in the implementation and management oversight of the complex and comprehensive statewide facility management program; to be responsible for wide array of facility management functions of public buildings at campuses statewide; to coordinate program activities with other functional units and financial programs; to assist in establishing program objectives, goals, and priorities and make recommendations to determine operating policies and implementation methods, within the context of the overall DCAMM and DOA policies and guidelines; and to do related work as required.**SUPERVISION RECEIVED**: Works under the direction of the Associate Director of Facilities (DCAMM) with wide latitude for the exercise of authority, initiative, and independent judgment in the formulation of policy and program procedures; work is subject to review through consultations and written reports for satisfactory performance and conformance with applicable laws, policies, codes, directives, rules, and regulations.**SUPERVISION EXERCISED**: Supervises, plans, assigns, coordinates, directs, and reviews the work of management, professional, technical, trades and clerical staff/consultants.**ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED**: Within the Division of Capital Asset Management & Maintenance (DCAMM), to be responsible for assisting in the implementation and management oversight of the complex and comprehensive statewide facility management program; to be responsible for wide array of facility management functions of public buildings at campuses statewide; to coordinate program activities with other functional units and financial programs; to assist in establishing program objectives, goals, and priorities and determine operating policies and implementation methods, within the context of the overall DCAMM and DOA policies and guidelines.* To be responsible for assisting in delivering a complete facility management program and maintenance projects within scope, on schedule and within budget.* To be responsible for quality assurance and strategic master planning on statewide facilities projects.* To monitor and review work plans and specifications for accuracy and compliance with standards, codes, policies, laws, rules and regulations and Department directives.* To plan, organize, and direct the assignments of work to horizontal project engineering teams through established supervision.* To coordinate program activities with other functional units and financial programs, ensuring overall cohesiveness among units and staff which support these efforts. Assuring that all such real property as is used by state government conforms to appropriate codes and/or laws regulating their use.* To be responsible for the operation of a statewide comprehensive communications plan including written policies, standards, and procedures and to include such emergency communication facilities as may be necessary to supplement the emergency operation of state government.* To develop budgets and schedules, to monitor budget and schedule performance and report performance variations.* To confer with and advise state officials at the highest level on a variety of issues, policies, programs, and executive initiatives.* To assist in establishing and maintaining liaison with intra-departmental personnel, other State governmental agencies, Federal agencies, public utilities, trade organizations, and private concerns regarding design, engineering, construction, and rehabilitation projects.* To promote a culture that prioritizes customer service, innovation, quality, and efficiency.* To represent a superior at various meetings and events, or as his/her designee to various boards or commissions and to provide executive leadership in the development of departmental policies and objectives.* To ensure the proper management systems, policies and personnel are in place to carry out his or her official duties.* To provide proper supervision of statewide DCAMM facilities staff.* To do related work as required.**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR APPOINTMENT:****KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND CAPACITIES**: Knowledge of public administration as applied in the management of a governmental agency dealing with the development of policies and procedures; a thorough knowledge of building operation and maintenance; a working knowledge of budgeting for renovations, operational maintenance and capital improvements; a familiarity with Department of Administration procedures, standard policies and procedures; the ability to develop a statewide standard and emergency communications system, policies and procedures; the ability to supervise a wide variety of professional, technical, maintenance and administrative personnel; the ability to provide a wide range of consultative services to others in public property management and maintenance policies and procedures; and related capacities and abilities.**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:** Education: Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree or graduate degree with specialization in Construction Management, Architecture or Engineering, Business Administration, Public Administration, Project Management, or related field; and Experience: Considerable employment in a responsible capacity in the field of managing large and complex facilities operations or campuses, and facilities related project management. Experienced in supervisory capacity in related field.
