Position Overview Reporting to, and working in close collaboration with the Sales Director, The Americas, the Field Sales Manager, Fitness Clubs is responsible for driving sales growth across a designated region of the USA through high‑touch, in‑person customer engagement and proactive business development. This role is primarily field‑based, visiting existing customers, developing new accounts, and expanding the Merrithew and Align‑Pilates brand presence. The Field Sales Manager is accountable for growing revenue through consultative selling, strategic account development, and targeted prospecting activities, while strengthening long‑term customer relationships. In addition to managing existing accounts, this individual will actively identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities through in‑field prospecting, distributor visits, trade shows, and strategic outreach. Administrative and operational support is provided by the Customer Service team and the Sales Coordinator, allowing the Field Sales Manager to remain focused on revenue‑generating, customer‑facing activities, specifically targeting the Fitness Club segment.

Revenue & Sales Performance

Own and achieve regional sales targets for Pilates equipment and accessories of Merrithew and Align‑Pilates products

Manage the full sales cycle: prospecting → demos → proposals → closing → follow‑up

Track pipeline activity, forecasting, and close rates using CRM tools

Identify upsell and cross‑sell opportunities (e.g., reformers, bundles, education pathways)

Customer & Relationship Management

Build trusted relationships with:

Fitness Club operators

Hospitality customers and national chains

Multi‑facility Rehab clinics and allied health professionals

Educators and master instructors

Act as the primary point of contact for key regional/national accounts

Support customer retention through check‑ins, follow‑ups, and post‑sale care

Gather customer feedback to inform product, pricing, and service improvements

Field Presence & Demonstrations

Conduct in‑person and virtual product demos (equipment setup, features, benefits)

Travel within the territory to visit studios, trade shows, education events, and conferences

Represent the brand as a subject‑matter expert in Pilates equipment and movement

Ensure brand presentation aligns with premium, education‑driven positioning

Territory & Account Strategy

Develop and execute a territory plan to maximize coverage and growth

Identify new market opportunities (new studios, franchise growth, geographic expansion)

Prioritize high‑value prospects and strategic accounts

Monitor competitor activity and regional market trends

Collaboration with Internal Teams

Work closely with:

Marketing (leads, campaigns, launches, events)

Education teams (training alignment, instructor pathways)

Operations & logistics (orders, delivery timelines, installs)

Customer service & technical support

Provide field insights to support product development and messaging

Reporting & Administration

Maintain accurate CRM records (leads, opportunities, notes)

Submit regular reports on:

Sales performance

Market insights

Customer feedback

Manage pre‑approved expenses and travel planning efficiently

Brand Advocacy & Industry Engagement

Act as a brand ambassador within the Pilates community

Build relationships with key influencers, educators, and studio networks

Support events, workshops, and launches to strengthen brand credibility

Stay current on Pilates trends, education standards, and studio business challenges

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in field sales, business development, or account management, within the fitness industry

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, or a related discipline required.

A network of contacts within the fitness club segment a requirement

Proven ability to succeed in a highly autonomous, field‑based sales role, consistently meeting or exceeding targets.

Strong new business development mindset with demonstrated prospecting and closing skills.

Excellent relationship‑building, negotiation, and presentation abilities.

Ability to prioritize time effectively while managing extensive travel and multiple accounts.

Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment with minimal supervision.

Willing and able to travel extensively with occasional international travel, as required.

Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and interpersonal skills.

Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM systems.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
