Description Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Graphic Design Manager, the Graphic Designer is responsible for creating and delivering a variety of marketing materials for print and digital media. This person will work with marketing and communications team and associates throughout the organization to help execute the marketing strategy in alignment with the Y brand and mission. In addition, they will provide creative input and communications support to the team as needed.

Key Responsibilities Key Functions/Responsibilities:

Conceptualize and produce marketing materials to support membership acquisition, program sales and fundraising efforts

In partnership with the Marketing and Communications teams, ensure visual and written content across print and digital media is high-quality, consistent, and adheres to brand guidelines, brand voice, and visual standards

Partner with the Communications team to supply images and assets for social media and assist in the design of email communications

Organize and coordinate marketing resources across all areas within the department to ensure seamless integration of both long-term campaigns and short-term efforts

Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of photoshoots, including collaborating with photographers, sourcing props or locations, and ensuring visual assets align with brand guidelines and marketing objectives

Manage Marketing Request Form submissions, track project progress, and work with the Marketing team to complete requests

Manage Canva design approvals with support from Graphic Design Manager as needed

Create and maintain updated campaign toolkits

Collaborate with Marketing team on Youth and Family programming print and digital marketing needs throughout the year, including Day Camp

Minor copywriting or copyediting as needed to align with YMCA Brand Guidelines and brand voice

Provide general support to the Marketing department through other duties as assigned and participate in in-person meetings as needed

Education and Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required, preference in Graphic Design or related field

1+ years graphic design experience and portfolio showcasing relevant work

Comfortable working across a range of disciplines including, but not limited to, web design, email design, presentation design and print design and production

Deep knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), Canva, and exporting files for multiple mediums

Experience working within and designing for Constant Contact or similar

Highly capable in both design and print production

Proficiency in Microsoft Powerpoint, Word, and Excel

Self-starter with exceptional attention to detail, including proof-reading

Conceptual understanding of mobile internet – email for mobile, web pages for mobile, QR codes

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Ability to handle multiple tasks, work independently, problem solve and possess effective time management skills and managing them with the Y’s project management system

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, track deadlines, and maintain accurate calendars to support timely campaign execution

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team

Photography skills a plus

Experience with website CMS platforms (such as WordPress or Squarespace) and basic HTML/CSS knowledge is preferred.
