About the Role
The Lead Ecommerce Photographer is responsible for end-to-end still and on-figure photography that supports multiple fashion brands across e-commerce and marketplace channels. This role owns studio execution, image quality standards, shot lists, and production cadence to deliver high-volume, on-brand imagery that drives conversion. The Lead Ecommerce Photographer partners closely with Styling, Creative, Merchandising, and Post-Production to ensure consistent lighting, color accuracy, fit representation, and file delivery standards across categories. How You’ll Contribute
Lead day-to-day studio photography for apparel and accessories (on-figure, flat lay, ghost mannequin, and still life) in alignment with brand guidelines and seasonal direction. Own shoot planning and execution: build shot lists, manage sample flow, maintain studio calendars, and coordinate talent/crew as needed to meet weekly image targets. Set and maintain lighting, camera, and capture workflows to ensure consistent image quality, framing, and fit representation across brands and categories. Partner with Styling and Creative to translate product stories into conversion-focused imagery while preserving each brand’s point of view. Manage on-set color accuracy and consistency (calibrated monitors, targets, and process checks); ensure images meet e-commerce standards for true-to-product color. Collaborate with Post-Production/Retouching to establish retouching direction (skin, fabric texture, product cleanup), file naming, cropping, and export specs by channel. Deliver assets to the appropriate systems (DAM/PIM/CMS) and maintain strong organization, metadata, and version control. Track throughput and quality KPIs; identify process improvements that increase efficiency without sacrificing image standards. Maintain studio equipment and inventory (camera bodies/lenses, lighting, grip, backdrops); coordinate repairs, rentals, and upgrades as needed. Support special projects including hero imagery, PDP refreshes, campaigns, and marketplace requirement changes. What You Bring to the Team
6+ years of high-volume e-commerce photography experience in fashion/apparel (in-house brand, retailer, or studio environment), with demonstrated leadership/ownership of studio output. Strong portfolio across apparel categories (mens, womens, kids) including on-figure and still life; proven ability to maintain consistent standards across multiple brand aesthetics. Expert proficiency with professional camera systems, studio lighting, and tethered capture workflows; advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Lightroom and Photoshop). Working knowledge of post-production pipelines, retouching standards, and channel-specific requirements (e.g., PDP, marketplace, aspect ratios, file formats, and naming conventions). High attention to detail in fit, proportion, color, and texture representation; ability to troubleshoot quickly under tight production timelines. Experience partnering cross-functionally with Creative, Styling, Merchandising, and Production; clear, direct communication style. Organized, solutions-oriented, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, multi-brand environment. Bachelor’s degree in Photography, Visual Arts, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience). Why Join o5 group
