YOUR ROLE We are seeking a Planner to join our team in
full time temporary role that runs from late February through June,
with the possibility to extend. The Planner is responsible for the strategic media plan development and ultimately being able to speak to the holistic plan narrative, including tactical details and campaign performance. A Planner utilizes their knowledge of media strategy and channels to ensure strategic rigor is maintained throughout the entire plan.
A successful Planner is resourceful, organized, and energetic throughout the planning process. A strong communicator, they are comfortable in a fast-paced industry and handling multiple projects.
Key responsibilities of a Planner include: Reliable, ethical & operates in the best interest of agency & clients
Maintains and grows a foundational knowledge of media planning - online and offline media channels
Collaborates with Investment, Analytics and Strategy counterparts to ensure actionable audience insights are incorporated into strategic recommendation
Weekly status calls and serves as the main point of contact with clients
Manages client budgets and upkeep of flowcharts to maintain holistic media plan accuracy
Monitoring the pulse on changing media and client trends (meetings with external teams and education opportunities)
Collaborates on tactical presentations ensuring the Investment team has a clear story and approach
Master tools like Vivvix/Pathmatics, YouGov, MRI/Simmons, Infegy, Commspoint, RBOO and NMI.
First ‘gatekeeper’ and reviewer for Assistant’s work. Full comprehension of processes and procedures, and able to clearly and effectively communicate this to assistants and clients.
Articulates a strong understanding of quantitative media strategy elements – media mix, role of channel, reach and frequency, flighting strategy etc., in support of full narrative from Supervisor and Director
Fully comprehends client business objectives and the role media is meant to play in accomplishing them
Proactively encourages media + creative integration through cross-agency presentations and timelines
Focuses on a quality product, adhering to Crossmedia’s high standards
Develops holistic, strategic media plans and respective documents in partnership with Supervisor and Director presents findings to key stakeholders.
Understands target audience behaviors & drivers and works with Investment team to translate those qualities into actionable segments.
Successfully interrogates tactical plan details to ensure strategy pull through
Understands media metrics beyond the brilliant basics, including layers of quality, effectiveness, etc.
Encourages thinking outside of the box, including “limitless pursuit” ideas free from the restrictions of brief parameters
Develops strategic media POVs for clients
Personal efforts generate satisfaction – clients, team, company
Participates in training to enhance their professional growth.
Mentors Assistant Planner; provides ongoing feedback and reviews to guide growth.
Provides a genuine, valuable experience for our clients, feeling a sense of partnership
Displays a high level of personal dedication and motivation.
Positively contributes to Crossmedia culture.
Troubleshoots team issues and concerns.
Builds esprit de corps through strong team communication.
This is a full time but TEMPORARY role from late February through June, with the possibility to extend.
REQUIREMENTS:
1- 2+ years of experience in media planning, preferably within an agency setting
A thorough knowledge of all media channels
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Detail-oriented, organized, able to multitask, and work well under pressure
Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking agility.
Strong listening skills and believes good thinking can come from anyone and any place
A team player willing to compromise their point of view in support of others.
