Position Summary This team member’s primary responsibility is to learn our business from the ground up and understand the key functional areas of the company, with the outcome of graduating into a Territory Sales position. This program is a 12 – 18+ month training program, depending on the background and experience of the individual. There is a very high likelihood of relocating to an open sales territory upon graduation, so being open to relocation is a requirement of the program.

Essential Functions

Commit to FIELD’s Mission Statement, Core Values, and Fieldamentals.

Training during the Development Program will include structured rotations in sales and marketing, account management, sourcing and quoting, warehouse operations, quality, and engineering/technical support.

Training will also include customer and supplier visits, sales and technical presentations, practice sales calls, application testing, and cold calling.

Complete successful rotations through the key functional areas at Field.

Display learning and retention of concepts presented throughout the training program.

Improve verbal, written, and presentation communication skills throughout the program.

Actively participate in Sandler sales training, demonstrating comprehension of strategy over time in the program.

Assist sales and marketing teams with various projects and initiatives.

Partner with existing sales reps to troubleshoot customer issues.

Observe and learn the new customer implementation process, from prospecting to first shipment.

Participate in various presentations and discussions regarding progress through the training program.

Grow professionally and develop skills to transition to a successful Territory Sales Rep for Field.

Education, Skills and Experience Required

High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Four-year college degree preferred.

Polite and professional manner.

2 - 5 years in a business or industrial sales environment, including internship experience.

Commitment to relocate to a territory in the United States at the conclusion of the program.

Ability to learn Field’s value propositions and approach to selling.

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Self-directed, self-motivated, demonstrated drive to succeed.

Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with internal team members and external suppliers and customers.

Desire and commitment to learn in a comprehensive training program.

Work ethic consistent with requirements of a successful outside salesperson.

Strong mechanical aptitude and technical ability preferred.

$55,000 - $65,000 a year
