Overview We are seeking a strategic, results-driven Director of Purchasing to lead all procurement functions for McCarthy Tire Service. We are a well-established and growing, family-owned and operated tire company, celebrating 100 years of service this year! This role is critical to optimizing supply chain efficiency, strengthening vendor partnerships, and managing costs to support consistent service quality across all locations.
The ideal candidate brings a balance of strategic thinking and hands‑on execution, with a strong understanding of purchasing, vendor negotiations, and market dynamics within a fast‑paced service environment.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute purchasing strategies aligned with company goals, growth plans, and operational needs
Lead all vendor relationships, including negotiation of contracts, pricing, rebates, and service agreements
Collaborate with sales, operations, and finance to forecast product and supply needs and ensure timely availability
Source, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers to leverage buying power, competitive pricing, and reliable supply
Implement and improve systems and best practices for inventory management, cost tracking, and purchasing analytics
Monitor market trends, tire and parts pricing, and supply chain conditions, providing actionable insights to leadership
Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and applicable purchasing regulations
Lead, mentor, and develop the purchasing team to drive performance, accountability, and professional growth
Qualifications
Proven leadership experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management
Experience in automotive, tire, retail service, or multi‑location operations preferred
Strong negotiation, analytical, and strategic planning skills
Ability to build long‑term supplier partnerships while maintaining cost discipline
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
