Civil Estimator
Position Summary The Civil Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for civil construction projects, with a primary focus on earthworks, excavation, and underground utilities. This role supports business development and project teams by analyzing plans, specifications, and bid documents to develop complete and profitable project pricing.
Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed estimates for earthwork, excavation, and underground utility projects
Perform quantity takeoffs for labor, materials, and equipment
Review plans, specifications, and bid requirements
Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing
Develop project budgets and bid proposals
Identify project risks, opportunities, and scope gaps
Support project managers during project handoff
Qualifications
5+ years of experience estimating civil construction projects
Strong background in earthworks, excavation, and underground utilities
Ability to read and interpret civil plans and specifications
Experience with takeoffs, cost analysis, and bid preparation
Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Excel
Strong attention to detail and communication skills
