Patient Account Representative (Remote, MN Residents Only)

Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-7:00 PM
(Typical shifts: 7:30 AM-4:00 PM or 8:00 AM-5:00 PM; one evening shift required)
Pay:
$18-$21.25/hour

Fully Remote / Work From Home (MUST BE MN RESIDENT)
Position Overview
Seeking a Patient Account Representative with strong healthcare customer service, medical billing, self-pay account resolution, call center, and revenue cycle management experience. This role involves inbound and outbound patient calls, payment plan setup, insurance and billing inquiries, financial assistance options, and account follow-up. Ideal for individuals with skills in collections, patient communication, HIPAA compliance, account review, and problem solving.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct outbound patient calls regarding self-pay medical balances
Manage inbound calls, delivering high-level customer service
Provide financial assistance and payment plan options
Research and resolve billing, statement, and account inquiries
Document patient interactions in account management systems
Review accounts for delinquent payments, issue final notices
Follow healthcare revenue cycle procedures and client SOPs
Collaborate with team members for continuous training and development
Gather and relay accurate information to medical facilities
Required Skills & Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
Experience in healthcare customer service, medical billing, or patient financial services preferred
Strong verbal/written communication skills
Ability to interpret business documents, billing statements, and regulatory information
Ability to calculate percentages, interest, discounts, and financial amounts
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data entry skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, email, and basic computer systems
Must obtain State Collection License upon hire
