A lower middle-market private equity firm (representative of firms within our network) may seek a
Junior Transaction Analyst
to support senior investment professionals across
deal execution, financial analysis, and transaction diligence . This role is designed for candidates at the
start of their private equity careers , offering direct exposure to live transactions, rigorous analytical work, and hands-on involvement in the deal process within a lean investment team. Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Transaction Analysis & Financial Modeling
Build and maintain
transaction and operating models , including 3-statement models, DCFs, and LBOs Analyze deal economics, capital structures, leverage, and downside scenarios Perform valuation analyses using
comparable companies, precedent transactions, and intrinsic methods Support initial screening and underwriting of potential acquisitions Assist with diligence across
financial, commercial, operational, and legal workstreams Analyze historical performance, forecasts, KPIs, and unit economics Coordinate and organize diligence materials from advisors and management teams Summarize diligence findings into clear, data-driven transaction insights Investment Committee & Execution Support
Prepare
investment memoranda, financial exhibits, and IC presentation materials Support internal discussions by highlighting key risks, assumptions, and return drivers Assist transaction execution from initial review through closing Help manage timelines, data rooms, and advisor interactions Support portfolio company
performance tracking and reporting Assist with KPI dashboards and variance analysis Contribute analytical support for
add-on acquisitions, refinancings, and exit preparation Provide ad hoc transaction-related analysis to the investment team What Makes This Work Engaging

Bachelor’s degree in
Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field Strong Excel skills with the ability to
build or audit financial and transaction models Solid understanding of
accounting, corporate finance, and valuation Experience (Formal or Informal)
Prior internships or entry-level experience in
investment banking, transaction advisory, private equity, consulting, or corporate finance
