Senior Database Administrator

We are supporting a major

state‑level technology transformation initiative

and seeking an experienced

Senior SQL Server Database Administrator

to join a high‑visibility modernization program. This role will be part of a large enterprise‑wide effort to migrate 100+ applications and associated databases into a newly formed state agency environment. As a Senior Database Administrator, you will be a

key member of the infrastructure team , responsible for planning and executing complex database migrations from legacy environments to both

on‑premises DTO data centers

and

commercial cloud platforms . You will ensure

data integrity, availability, security, and compliance

while supporting ongoing modernization efforts across critical state environmental and public service systems. Key Responsibilities

Lead end‑to‑end

database migration planning and execution Assess current database environments and identify migration readiness Develop migration strategies for

on‑prem and cloud

environments Perform schema conversions, data transformations, and validation Troubleshoot migration issues and optimize performance Configure and maintain SQL Server environments Implement encryption, access control, and security auditing Ensure compliance with

state + federal IT regulations Collaborate closely with application teams, developers, and infrastructure groups Required Skills (Must‑Have)

5+ years

as a Senior SQL Server DBA 1+ year

migrating application databases between versions/platforms Strong Backup/Restore experience (5+ years) SQL Server Integration Services ( SSIS ) Experience with

roles, permissions, encryption Transparent Data Encryption ( TDE ) PowerShell scripting Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related field
