Position Purpose The Senior Learning and Development Specialist partners with Sales and Commercial leaders to design, develop, and implement scalable training programs that strengthen selling capability across Core‑Mark’s international sales team. The role delivers high‑impact learning experiences that improve sales effectiveness, accelerate onboarding, support product and solution knowledge, and drive consistent execution in the field. The specialist focuses on building practical, performance‑based training that supports both centralized and decentralized learning models, strengthens the company’s sales talent pipeline, and directly contributes to revenue growth and organizational performance.
Primary Responsibilities
Program Development: Collaborate with Sr. Director HR Operations, Talent & Development Manager, and Subject Matter Experts to design & create training programs, materials/content, and curriculum for various audiences and skill levels. This position will collaborate on scaled development of programs and content based on a variety of career stages, from initial onboarding to detailed functional and leadership training.
Training Facilitation: Serve as trainer and facilitator for key leadership, engagement, and culture‑focused sessions. Leverage strengths and best practices to deliver relevant, high‑quality learning experiences for programs from early onboarding to highly skilled, technical, and/or leadership programs. Training facilitation will occur both in person, with travel up to 50% required, and virtual. Will partner with Talent and Development Manager for program administration, tracking, and scheduling.
Program Evaluation: Measure the effectiveness of training programs through feedback and performance metrics. Partner with stakeholders to develop program effectiveness measurement activities and provide data‑driven insights for individual program and overall learning strategy improvement to the Talent & Development team.
Compliance: Ensure training sessions and materials meet quality standards. This position will partner with the HR Director, Compliance to ensure state and federal employment regulations are met. May assist in training specific compliance‑based programs in partnership with the HR Director, Compliance.
Collaboration: Shorten time to deploy new tools and programs through content design support. Collaborate with Compliance, Analytics, and Talent teams to align messaging, tools, and training deployment. Provide program execution support for segment and OpCo‑level training initiatives through key partnerships within the organization. Serve as a liaison with cross‑segment LMS team to ensure content material is loaded and applied to the correct learning path. Partnership with field leaders to prep and coordinate on‑site training sessions.
The ideal candidate should possess
Proven experience in development and delivery of training programs for sales teams utilizing skills in instructional design, program design & development, coaching, and training technology.
Skilled facilitator with excellent communication, coaching, and influence capabilities.
A strong sense of ownership & ability to work autonomously.
Commitment to the successful achievement of team and organizational goals through a desire to participate with and help other members of the team.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or related field.
3+ years of training and talent development experience, including developing learner‑centered content, training/learning facilitation, and program development for various levels of employees.
Self‑motivated with the ability to work in a fast‑paced and collaborative environment while remaining detail oriented.
Experience delivering leadership and training programs across large, distributed teams.
Proficient in MS Office, especially PowerPoint
Ability to travel internationally (Canada) extensively as required, up to 50% of the time
