Interim FP&A Consultant | Food Distribution (Miami)
We are seeking a high-caliber FP&A Consultant for an immediate, short-term engagement (approx. 60 days) in Miami. This role is designed to supplement the current CFO by building out forward-looking capabilities and addressing critical forecasting blind spots for a $150M global food distributor.
Client Location: Miami (Local candidates only; no travelers)
Start Date: ASAP Must be able to start on site no later than 2/23
Location: Miami, Florida

Salary: $100 - 125 per hour
Work Hours: 8 to 5
Education: Bachelor's degree
Experience: 10 Years
Responsibilities The Project
The client organization imports from 120 countries and manages a data-heavy business with concentrated sales among 5-6 major retailers. Following a significant impact from 2025 tariffs, the company needs to move away from over-reliance on spreadsheets and backward-looking tools to achieve real-time, accurate forecasting.
Develop a high-confidence budget and enhance the 13-week cash flow model.
Improve dashboards and evaluate KPIs to transition from backward-looking analysis to proactive strategy.
Synthesize granular data into summarized, executive-level reporting for the CEO and Board.
Analyze cost structures to ensure sales promotions align with true margins.
Support a potential sale process scheduled for next year.
Qualifications Experience Level Candidates should possess experience at the Strategic CFO or Senior Controller level.
Management Experience Proven track record in mid-to-late career management, specifically supporting companies through transaction/sale processes and reporting to private equity-backed Boards.
Technical Skills Expert-level Excel is required. Experience with SQL-based tools (Edibles) and PowerBuilder (or similar dashboarding software) is highly preferred.
Industry Expertise Must understand complex inventory/distribution (global imports, SKU variety, and customer segmentation).
Soft Skills Ability to navigate sensitive internal dynamics (working alongside a tenured CFO) and a strategic mindset that connects finance to operations.
Language Spanish speaking is a strong preference for this Miami-based role.
