Job Function:
Engineering / Technical Training
Are you a technical expert with a passion for teaching others how things work? We are seeking a
Technical Trainer
to join our team in San Jose. In this role, you will bridge the gap between complex engineering and hands‑on application, developing and delivering comprehensive training on high‑end photolithography equipment.
You won't just be behind a lectern; you’ll be in the cleanroom and the lab, ensuring our equipment is operational and our customers—both internal and external—are masters of the technology. This role is a 70/30 split between active training delivery and course development, offering a dynamic environment for someone who loves to stay "hands‑on" with hardware while mentoring others.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver Expert Training:
Conduct classroom and laboratory sessions on the operation, preventive maintenance, application, and installation of photolithography systems.
Curriculum Development:
Design and revise technical training materials, ensuring all lesson plans and procedures are accurate and up‑to‑date.
Technical Maintenance:
Manage the operation and maintenance of our San Jose training facilities and cleanroom equipment to ensure they are "demo-ready."
Field Support:
Verify technical procedures to support field service technicians and provide detailed technical presentations as needed.
Customer Liaison:
Partner with customers to assess training needs, gather feedback, and ensure our programs meet the evolving demands of the semiconductor industry.
Bachelor’s Degree
in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical science field.
5 years of related work experience
(minimum 3 years in a technical capacity).
Must Have:
Proven experience as a
Field Service Engineer
or
Technical Instructor
within the semiconductor industry.
Must Have:
Hands‑on hardware experience (e.g., robot replacement, troubleshooting, use of mechanical/electrical hand tools).
Skills & Environment:
Cleanroom Proficiency:
Comfortable working in a fab/cleanroom environment (requiring full bunny suit, mask, gloves, and safety glasses).
Communication:
Ability to translate complex physics and engineering concepts into digestible information for both engineers and customers.
Software:
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for course development.
Physical Requirements:
Close visual acuity for inspecting small parts/defects and the ability to perform mechanical assembly.
Travel & Schedule:
Travel:
Ability to travel up to 30%–50% (primarily domestic, with occasional international trips of 1–2 weeks).
Flexibility:
Willingness to work flexible shifts as required by training schedules.
License:
Must possess a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
Eligibility:
Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
Competitive Compensation:
Salary commensurate with mid‑senior level engineering expertise.
Professional Growth:
Opportunity to become a subject matter expert on industry‑leading photolithography technology.
Collaborative Culture:
Work alongside a highly skilled team of engineers and technical experts in a state‑of‑the‑art facility.
Impact:
Play a critical role in the success of our customers by ensuring their teams are world‑class operators.
Due to the high volume of applications we anticipate, we regret that we are unable to provide individual feedback to all candidates. If you do not hear back from us within 4 weeks of your application, please assume that you have not been successful on this occasion.
