Benner Landscape Design is seeking a talented and motivated Landscape Architect or Landscape Designer with 2-3 years of professional experience to join our Bay Area and Los Angeles studios. We are a boutique landscape architecture practice focused on high-end residential and select commercial projects, with offices in Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay Area.
Our work combines classical proportions with contemporary California sensibilities to create landscapes that support meaningful indoor–outdoor living. The studio manages all phases of design, from concept through construction documentation and construction administration. Projects are located throughout Los Angeles, Santa Barbara County, Marin County, and the greater San Francisco Bay Area. Our work has been featured in Architectural Digest, Veranda, Luxe, The Wall Street Journal, and California Homes, among others.

Position Overview This is a mid-level roles for a designer who can work with increasing independence while collaborating closely with principals and project managers. The position offers exposure to all phases of practice, with opportunities for growth in project responsibility, client coordination, and technical development.
Responsibilities
Contribute to projects from schematic design through construction documentation
Prepare design presentations, 2D and 3D graphics, and illustrative materials
Produce AutoCAD drawings including layout plans, details, planting, and hardscape plans
Assist with grading and drainage concepts and coordination with consultants
Participate in material research and palette development
Support permitting and agency coordination efforts
Attend client meetings, site visits, and consultant meetings as appropriate
Manage multiple deadlines and project priorities concurrently
Qualifications
2-3 years of professional experience in landscape architecture or landscape design
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture or Architecture
Strong understanding of landscape architectural principles including site design, grading and drainage, California planting, and construction detailing
Proficiency in AutoCAD required; experience with LandFX strongly preferred
Experience with 3D modeling and rendering software (SketchUp, Rhino, Lumion, etc.) desired
Strong graphic skills and experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Familiarity with Bay Area jurisdictions and California permitting processes is a plus
