Job Title Sales Account Manager - Ingredients - Alpharetta, GA

Department/Function Sales, Customer Service & Origination

Position Description The Sales Account Manager will act as the primary point of contact for customer accounts in their region (Western US). The role is responsible for developing new accounts and strengthening existing customer relationships to grow sales in value‑added peanut ingredient markets. A strong background in food science or R&D related fields is preferred, as the position will work closely with purchasing and R&D contacts within accounts and with ADM R&D to create innovative concepts for customers. The Sales Account Manager reports directly to the General Manager, Specialty Products and will be based in the Alpharetta, Georgia GP office.

Responsibilities (Partial Listing)

Responsible for the acquisition and development of local and national accounts

Creation and implementation of a sales plan to deliver upon sales goals

Consistently generate leads via prospecting, networking and referral efforts

Provide weekly reports on prospect activity, lead generation and account conversion status

Leverage ADM/GP resources to develop customer accounts and present capabilities as a competitive advantage

Develop a comprehensive account strategy for expanding market share of customer wallet

Business planning, strategic account growth, budgeting, relationship development, quarterly business reviews and contract negotiations

Understand customer’s business and utilize knowledge and resources to provide solutions

Address and support customer challenges, opportunities and threats

Own all aspects of the customer relationship, acting as the primary point of contact, and manage customer needs including samples, price quotations, order management and customer reports

Manage customer pipeline in Salesforce CRM system

Elicit customer feedback to help guide future product and service offerings

Report timely and accurate revenue and profitability forecasts

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Previous sales experience with value‑added products preferred

Interpersonal skills; good verbal and written communication required

Self‑confident, goal‑oriented, motivated for development of self and company

Strong decision‑making and problem‑solving skills

Independently generate new sales revenue and profitability

Effectively handle client bids and negotiations

Entrepreneurial spirit is a must

Strong organizational skills

Additional required skills include forecasting, team building, time management, presentation, product knowledge and negotiation

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint

Local and overnight business travel required

Bachelor’s degree required; preferred degree in food science, nutrition or related field

Base Pay Offering Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non‑exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.

The pay range for this position is expected to be between:

$58,000.00 – $125,700.00

Salaried Incentive Plan The total compensation package for this position will also include an annual bonus.
