Outside Sales Representative – Construction A well-established, equipment company is expanding its sales team in the Des Moines market. This outside sales role is focused on building long‑term customer relationships, identifying equipment solutions, and supporting contractors and industrial customers across a defined territory. This is a field‑based role with strong internal support and growth potential. First year total compensation typically around $120,000.

What you’ll do

Build and maintain relationships with contractors, municipalities, and industrial clients

Prospect new business while managing and growing existing accounts

Take a consultative approach to understand jobsite needs and recommend equipment solutions

Prepare quotes and support the sales process from initial conversation through close

Partner with internal teams (service, parts, rentals) to ensure a smooth customer experience

Track activity and opportunities using CRM tools

Represent the company professionally at customer sites and in the field

What they’re looking for

Outside sales experience; construction equipment, heavy equipment, or rental industry experience preferred

Strong relationship‑building and problem‑solving skills

Ability to work independently in a territory‑based role

Mechanical aptitude or familiarity with construction equipment is a plus

Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally

Base & Monthly commission based on margin of sale
