Mid‑Level Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Designer Location: Beaumont, Texas (In‑Office)

Experience: 5‑10 Years

Employment Type: Full‑Time

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Mid‑Level Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Designer to join our in‑office team. The ideal candidate will have 5‑10 years of experience in designing electrical and instrumentation systems for industrial, manufacturing, or infrastructure projects. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical layouts, schematics, and instrumentation diagrams while working collaboratively with engineers and project teams.

Key Responsibilities

Develop detailed electrical and instrumentation designs, including wiring diagrams, schematics, panel layouts, and P&IDs.

Utilize AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or similar software to create and revise technical drawings.

Interpret and implement engineering specifications, codes, and industry standards (e.g., NEC, IEC, ISA, IEEE).

Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and other disciplines to ensure design accuracy and project alignment.

Perform cable routing, tray layouts, loop drawings, and terminations for electrical and control systems.

Conduct site visits when required to gather field data and support installation teams.

Review vendor drawings and documentation to verify compliance with project specifications.

Ensure adherence to safety regulations, quality control, and project deadlines.

Qualifications & Skills

5‑10 years of experience as an E&I Designer in industrial, commercial, or infrastructure projects.

Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar electrical design tools.

Strong knowledge of electrical and instrumentation standards (NEC, ISA, IEEE, IEC, etc.).

Experience in designing power distribution, control panels, and instrumentation systems.

Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.

Familiarity with PLC/DCS systems, loop diagrams, and field instrumentation.

Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.

Attention to detail with excellent problem‑solving skills.

Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Associate’s in Computer Drafting Technology, Instrumentation, or related field (preferred but not required).

Experience with 2D/3D modeling software (AutoCAD Electrical, Revit, or similar) is a plus.

Previous experience in pulp/paper, chemical, power, or manufacturing industries.

Education: Associate Degree (preferred for related fields)
