Summary of the Job: Carmichael Lynch is looking to add an Art Director to our creative team, servicing multiple clients with a partnered copywriter. The Art Director will concept and execute creative campaigns across various visual mediums including online video, social, influencer, digital media, and experiential. They will work with writers, creative directors, project managers, producers, and account managers to translate client needs into strategic creative. We expect hands-on experience executing concepts across platforms with expert composition, alignment to strategy, and strong design. We welcome a driven, detail-oriented, collaborative candidate who continuously grows their art direction and design craft. This Art Director will work with one or more copywriting partners and may float across multiple creative clients. Essential Functions / Principal Accountabilities

Day-to-day responsibilities

include taking responsibility for major campaigns and brand communications across video, digital, social, experiential, and brand design in collaboration with writers, prioritizing craft and execution aligned with client brand, objectives, and business goals. Develop a strong understanding of assigned client businesses with guidance from Creative Directors, Account Managers, Planners, and Project Managers. Bring strong design taste, presentation skills, and clear communication. Communicate and collaborate effectively with integrated teams. Actively ideate and pitch integrated campaign ideas for designated clients to Creative Directors. Contribute to internal agency projects in support of company events, internships, and more. Participate in the Minneapolis advertising community by attending seminars, volunteering for CL-sponsored events, and referring top creative peers to the agency. Engage in Carmichael Lynch’s culture by attending company-wide events and maintaining a positive, inclusive attitude. Note: These are the major functions and accountabilities required of the position and the predominant criteria by which performance will be assessed. OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED. Working Relationships, Autonomy, and Supervision

For this role, you will collaborate with Creative, Project Management, Account Management, Social Strategy, Brand Planning, PR, Production, Studio, and Content Lab teams. Management oversight comes from the Creative Director(s); project oversight from the Director of Creative Operations. Required Qualifications, Experience & Knowledge

Education:

A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in advertising, visual art, or a closely-related field. Skills and Experience:

A minimum of 4+ years of experience and a portfolio that demonstrates strong creative capability. Mid-level client contact experience is required. Strong leadership abilities are essential. An affinity for disruptive social is welcomed. Production experience is valued. Association with highly awarded creative output is prioritized. The salary range for this position is listed below. Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on a variety of factors, including but not limited to budget, relevant experience, qualifications, and tenure in similar roles.
