Additionally, the department manages many of the state's advocacy programs that provide assistance and services to diverse segments of the state's population that have been traditionally underserved.**Description of Work**The Digital Media Specialist's primary role is managing and maintaining the NC Department of Administration’s (NCDOA) social media accounts and website. As part of the Communications team, the Digital Media Specialist will be entrusted with making the best decisions regarding content creation, organization and placement of social media and web content to position and maintain NCDOA’s digital media presence to align with the department’s mission and goals.
Additional job duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
• Updating content and organization of the department’s website
• Providing design and content management support for the NCDOA website
• Implementing the day-to-day social media strategy and crafting daily engaging content that supports NCDOA services, programs and initiatives
• Conduct regular content analysis and convey best practices for social and digital media in strategic planning and implementation
• Complete other public information duties as needed, including writing news releases, articles or proclamations, creating content for collateral materials such as fact sheets or brochures, or other tasks assigned
This position requires the ability to:
• Work effectively independently, and collaboratively with other communications staff, in teams, and with other internal stakeholders
• Communicate effectively verbally and in writing
• Build and leverage strong collaborative relationships with staff members at all levels as well as with external stakeholders

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits. This position's typical hours are Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. This position may telework at times.
