9/8 Central, an EMMY award-winning video production company in Greenville, SC, is looking for a Business Development Executive to join our team.

You know you need to be methodical in order to be successful. You independently plan your day to make the most of your time, and you’re always finding networking opportunities or setting up networking events in the studio.
Last, but not least, you have a sense of how to market and message our company. Sure, we’ll do lots of brainstorming so you’re not on your own, but you’re listening to clients and potential clients to understand exactly how we should position ourselves.

Greenville, SC Salary: Base + Commission
RESPONSIBLE FOR Sales
Leads end-to-end new customer acquisition, including hunting, qualifying, advancing opportunities through the sales process, and closing contracted business. Responsible for revenue generation from first contact to signed agreement.
Proactively seeking out networking opportunities to attend
Attending events to find new prospects and bring awareness to 9/8 Central
Coordinating networking opportunities/events to host in our studio
Meeting prospects at their facilities, for lunch, dinner, or coffee
Giving tours of our facilities
Prospecting, including cold calls and emails
Warming up leads to either hand off to Will or close alongside Will
Maintaining our CRM (Hubspot) and keeping it up to date
Maintaining knowledge of our packages and services
Prepare and send contracts
Marketing
Participating in filming promotional videos
Suggesting content for webpages or other materials to assist in sales
REQUIREMENTS You’re the definition of a people-person.
You have no reservations about approaching new faces, going into the deep end in networking events, and striking up conversations with strangers.
You love to follow systems.
Sales is math: do the right steps in order to the right number of people and success will follow. You’re good at following a winning strategy every freakin’ day once you’ve found it.
Strong client service skills.
This is not a role where you never interact with a prospect once they sign the dotted line. You should be interested in maintaining that relationship through periodic check‑ins.
Critical thinking and fearlessness to take initiative.
Ideas for new packages? Cool ways to market them? Wondering if you should do this thing for that client? You’re moving forward and more of an ask for forgiveness, not permission type.
High sense of urgency and high motivation.
It’s important to strike while the iron is hot. You’re promptly responding to inquiries; whether it’s texts, phone calls, emails, fax, WUPHF...however someone messages us, you’re on it.
A positive mindset.

Salary Base
A guaranteed salary of $4,000 per month, decreasing by $1,000 each month beginning in month 5, until the base reaches zero.
Months 1–4: $4,000 per month
Month 5: $3,000
Month 6: $2,000
Month 7: $1,000
Month 8 and beyond: Commission-only
Commission
Project‑Based Sales: 10% commission on the total gross revenue of each project at the time of client payment.
Recurring Sales: 10% commission on the total gross value of the sale, paid over a 3‑year scale:
Year 1: 100% of earned commission
Year 2: 75% of earned commission
Year 3: 50% of earned commission
Year 4: 0% commission
Commissions are paid monthly as client payments are received regardless of the rate of the starting salary.
Hours
40-45 hour week on average. Because of the nature of business events, you will have some later evenings.
