About the Role We are seeking a sophisticated and technically proficient
Senior Interior Designer
to join our team. At Allison Burke Interior Design, we pride ourselves on creating spaces that are timeless, functional, and deeply personal. As a Senior Designer, you will lead projects from initial concept through final installation, acting as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and vendors.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design process, including space planning, furniture layouts, and custom millwork design.
Produce comprehensive construction document sets and detailed technical drawings.
Manage project budgets, timelines, and procurement using
Studio Designer .
Select and specify high-end finishes, fixtures, and furnishings.
Mentor junior design staff and oversee project deliverables to ensure they meet firm standards.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Experience:
5+ years of professional experience in high-end residential or boutique commercial design.
Technical Proficiency:
Mastery of the following tools is non-negotiable:
AutoCAD:
For precise drafting and construction sets.
SketchUp:
For 3D modeling and spatial visualization.
Adobe Creative Suite:
(Photoshop, InDesign) for high-impact client presentations and mood boards.
Bonus: Studio Designer:
Integrated project management and accounting knowledge is a bonus
Education:
A degree in Interior Design or Architecture from an accredited program.
Project Management:
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of detail.
The Ideal Candidate You are a proactive problem-solver with an \"eye\" for detail that matches our firm’s aesthetic. You understand that great design is in the details—from the perfect textile pairing to the exact logic of a floor plan. You are as comfortable on a construction site as you are in a client presentation. You currently live in Austin and are read to start immediately. Most importantly, a lovely personality that enjoys engagement, critical feedback and connection. We are a small firm and synergy is critical.
