
Champion is looking for a Senior Public Relations Specialist who can:
Write quality, error-free press releases, media alerts, pitches, bylined articles, blogs and thought‑leadership pieces
Expertly pitch national and local broadcast, print, digital and trade media with a strong understanding of audiences and news cycles. Develop PR campaign strategies that align with clients’ overarching business objectives and support broader marketing or communications goals
Confidently meet with new clients to fully understand their brand voice, messaging priorities and objectives, translating insights into compelling media materials
Effectively delegate tasks among PR team members, while ensuring quality, consistency and deadlines
Maintain and leverage relationships with media contacts to drive client coverage
Take initiative on tasks with minimal direction and proactively provide ideas and recommendations
Train, mentor and provide feedback to PR specialists and interns, supporting skill development and growth
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree
4-5 years of PR experience, including earned media strategy and pitching
Agency experience preferred
Strong writing skills
Established relationships with media at the local and/or national level
Restaurant and/or hospitality industry experience is a plus
The ideal candidate has a college degree in marketing, communications, journalism, public relations or related discipline; is a team player and also comfortable working with limited supervision; has four to five years of experience; has outstanding written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills; is energetic, organized, detail-oriented and self‑motivated.
