HGA is seeking a
Piping Designer
to support operations in
Bay Minette, Alabama . This Piping Designer is responsible for supporting field and office design activities for a major project, including P&ID walkdowns, redlines, digital drawing updates, and systems turnover package development.
Responsibilities
Perform P&ID walkdowns in the field to verify existing conditions.
Redline and update P&ID drawings based on field walkdowns.
Collect detailed field notes and assimilate them into accurate digital drawing packages.
Build, review, and check systems turnover packages and equipment packages.
Serve as a lead Designer for the field team, providing guidance and quality oversight.
Utilize AutoCAD and 3D models to update and verify design documentation.
Work with other crafts/trades, track progress, follow up on outstanding items, and support turnover processes.
Qualifications
Minimum 7+ years of experience reading and interpreting P&IDs in an industrial plant environment.
Strong background as a Mechanical or Piping Designer.
Experience leading design activities, checking drawing packages, and ensuring quality control.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and working with 3D model environments.
Ability to perform fieldwork in an industrial setting, including extended periods walking down systems.
Ability to work a 6/10 schedule (six 10 hour days per week) for approximately one year.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in aluminum, steel, chemical, or heavy industrial facilities.
Experience supporting turnover documentation and construction coordination.
Strong communication skills with multi-discipline project teams.
