United Way of Yellowstone County (UWYC) is seeking a Community Impact Coordinator to lead early childhood literacy and school readiness initiatives that support families across Yellowstone County. Your work will directly help children build a strong foundation for lifelong success and contribute to stronger families in our community.
What You’ll Do: Lead Early Childhood Literacy Initiatives (45%)
Coordinate Reach Out and Read, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, Bubbles & Books, and Read in Color programs
Coordinate book ordering, inventory, and distribution
Recruit and support volunteers
Maintain accurate program records and reporting
Represent programs at community events
Lead literacy events such as United We Read and Holiday Book Drive
Support School Readiness Efforts (45%)
Coordinate Lantern, a parent-support texting platform
Coordinate communication with statewide and national partners
Track data and report outcomes to funders
Participate in and support early childhood coalitions
Help identify funding and partnership opportunities
General Support (10%)
Represent UWYC in the community
Support annual campaign activities
Assist other team initiatives as needed
The Ideal Candidate:
Passionate about early childhood development and literacy
Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects at once
Strong communicator comfortable engaging families, volunteers, and partners
Skilled in relationship‑building and collaboration
Comfortable with data tracking and reporting
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required
Minimum 3 years of program coordination experience
Experience working with volunteers preferred
Grant management experience preferred
Compensation & Benefits:
Salary range: $46,000–$53,000 DOE
